1962 - 1995 THIOKOL CORPORATION
Thiokol Corporation was a major government contractor with multiple military and space related manufacturing operations. Thiokol acquired the Ordnance Operations Division from Sperry Rand Corporation in 1975. The company was known as Morton-Thiokol from 1983 to 1989 as a result of a merger.
Director, Plant Operations, Ordnance Operations Division: 1992 - 1995 Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager, responsible for all manufacturing at Louisiana and Longhorn Army Ammunition Plants where the manufacturing population ranged as high as 500 employees. * Restructured and eliminated redundant labor costs in plant operations by approximately 40% over a three-year period. * Directed smooth conversion from cost reimbursable contracting to profitable fixed price contracting from 1993 to 1995.
General Manager, Louisiana Plant: 1986 - 1992 Directly responsible to President of Thiokol for profit/loss associated with $130 million in annual sales, oversite of a 15,000-acre facility and 1,800 employees. * Attained record plant profits each year from 1987 to 1990. * Recorded over 10 million manhours with disabling-injury free performance from 1986 to 1991. * Turned around sub-par organizational performance by attaining and keeping satisfactory ratings from government audit teams following a five-year series of unsatisfactory results. * Oversaw eight labor contract negotiations involving four unions, achieving an agreement in each case without a work stoppage and within company objectives. * Provided leadership to the installation of a total quality management environment by assuring training and application of TQM tools and techniques for all plant employees (over 1,000).
Director of Programs, Louisiana Plant: 1984 - 1986 Reporting to the General Manager, the role served as a customer liaison for management of eight distinct product lines, modernization activities and annual maintenance/facilitation programs as well as responsibility for all proposal, marketing and negotiation activities. * Established and developed Program teams that formed the basis for improved scheduled performance and direct cost achievement within targeted projections. * Established initial contact and successfully negotiated substantial contract with Government of Singapore, representing the first international contract for the Division. Heavily involved in developing marketing strategies and direct sales activities for all product lines.
Director of Operations, Louisiana Plant, 1970 - 1984 Reporting to the General Manager, responsible for all product delivery schedules, staffing, quality, safety and product cost. In addition, responsible for all maintenance activities associated with a 15,000 acre facility and 2.7 million square feet of floor space.

1997 - 2008 VALENTEC SYSTEMS, INC. Resulting from a competitive process, Valentec was sellected the facility use contractor at Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant in December 1997. As General Manager, I was responsible for the initial start-up to include all staffing and full compliance with all contract requirements while assuring activities were satisfactorily accomplished within established cost considerations. In this position, I reported to the President of Valentec Systems.
In 2000, promoted to Vice President/General Manager to recognize significant responsibility increases associated with pursuit and discharge of manufacturing contracts in addition to continuation of the services contracts. Subsequently, Valentec was awarded multiple pyrotechnic contracts for U.S. and friendly foreign countries. Also, established capability and produced commercial specialty pyrotechnic products.
